デートは不人気？

おはようございます。
最近この記事を友達に教えられたので考えさせられました。

中には日本人についてこのように書いてあります：

According to a 2011 survey, approximately 60 percent of men and nearly 50 percent of women aged 18 to 34 were not in a romantic relationship, and another survey found that a third of Japanese people under 30 had never dated anyone before.

びっくりです。
僕は「若い男性」という高校生の団体の指導者として奉仕しています。６人くらいの高校生がいますが１人もデートしたことがないと思います。
僕は16歳ごろからデートいっぱいしました。僕の知り合いの人もデートよくしました。なぜか日本でデートは人気ないですね。
